Appointments
In an emergency call 999 before contacting the surgery.

Please read the following information about booking your appointment with a receptionist.

How to make an appointment
The appointments line (01588 630100) is open between 8 am and 1 pm each day.  You will be asked for your name, address or date of birth plus the date you would like to see the clinician of your choice.  Our appointment system is computerised and allows you to plan your routine appointments up to two weeks in advance.  Should you be unable to attend please let us know so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.  Please make a separate appointment for each person who needs to be seen.  Alternatively you can book your surgery appointment on-line.  Please see the ‘clinics’ section of this website for advice on appointment length depending on the procedure.  Please note routine bloods are not taken on a Friday.  This service is secure and all personal information contained on the website is protected using the highest standard internet security.  The website will allow patients to view a range of available appointments and choose the most convenient time for them.  Patients will not be able to view the full booking system nor will they be able to see who else has an appointment booked, ensuring full patient confidentiality.  To access the appointment booking part of the website, each patient will need their own unique identification number.  Please ask at reception where the receptionist will be able to issue you with this information.

Arriving for your appointment
When you arrive at the surgery for your appointment with either the doctor or nurse you can book  in with the receptionist or alternatively use the self check-in system (located in the reception area)  by following the prompts on the screen.

Home visits
Please ring before 10:30am if you feel you need a home visit and give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctors to allocate priority.  Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.

Weekend and night cover
All cover is provided by Shropdoc.  Please call 01588 638285 if you require a doctor out of hours; a recorded message will then give you further instructions.

Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor’s discretion.  Requests for prescriptions can be made in writing, on-line (ask at reception for details) or by calling in to the surgery during normal working hours.  You will be issued with a computer printed slip attached to your prescription, please tick the items required and return it to the surgery when you need further medication.  Please allow two working days, not including weekends and Bank Holidays, for your prescription to be processed.  On receipt of a stamped addressed envelope we can post your prescription to you or the pharmacy of your choice.  Patients on long term medication are asked to consult the doctor at yearly intervals for a medication review.

New Patient Registration
To register with the practice you must live within the practice area which extends to approximately 6 miles from the surgery.  Please call at reception where you will be asked to complete a registration form and health check questionnaire.  It sometimes takes a while to receive your medical records from your previous doctor so we can use this information to gain information from you about any medical condition you may have and to get your medication on record so that it can be issued for you without delay.
