BISHOP’S CASTLE MEDICAL PRACTICE

Opportunity for a GP Registrar or Medical Student at Bishop’s Castle,  South Shropshire.   We are a rural practice, uniquely located in the Welsh Marches between the Long Mynd to the east and Offa’s Dyke to the west.  Our main aim is to show that working in a GP practice is fun! Dr Adrian Penney is the GP lead for training in the practice.  He is also involved in nurse training.  Bishop’s Castle Community Hospital is supported by the practice and presents many opportunities to gain experience in this setting. Some of our past Registrars are now in permanent posts in South Shropshire and regularly keep in touch with us—so hopefully they like the area and us! Fantastic Opportunity to be a GP Registrar in Church Stretton,  South Shropshire. Vacancy available for August 2008   Is there a better way to start your day's work than a gentle drive through beautiful countryside to Church Stretton?  Two of our partners think so as they commute from Shrewsbury.  We have been a training practice for over 20 years.        We are a friendly team working from modern premises situated in a market town surrounded by stunning countryside.  Our common room has splendid views over the Stretton hills.  There is protected tutorial time of three to four hours per week, good videoing facilities and many opportunities to learn about the dynamic and ever changing general practice.  It is only a twenty minute journey to Shrewsbury for the excellent half day release course.  Out of hours work is done through the local GP co-operative.  We are involved in Locality Based Commissioning - one of our partners is Chair of the South West Commissioning Group.
