Clinics – all by appointment

Antenatal Clinic – Thursday morning with the Midwife

Baby Clinic – Monday afternoon with the Health visitor at the Childrens’ Centre.

Blood pressure check – with the nurse (10 min appt)

Childhood immunisations – Any time but preferably Tuesday afternoon with the nurse.

COPD Check – with the nurse (20 min appt)

Counselling – By appointment.

Diabetic Chiropody – Monday and Thursday afternoon

Diabetic Check – with the Nurse. (20 min appt)

Exercise on prescription – after discussion with Doctor or Nurse.

Family planning – full contraceptive care and advice is offered by appointment.

Help to Quit Smoking Cessation Clinic with the Nurse.  First appointment 20 mins.  Follow-up 10 mins.

Healthy heart check - with the Nurse. (20 min appt)

Holiday advice and travel immunisations – with the Practice Nurse.  Bishop’s Castle Medical Practice is an authorised Yellow Fever vaccination centre.  Please book a 20 min appointment for each person requesting advice.

Phlebotomy (Blood Test) by appointment before 1030 for those patients who only require a blood test.  No routine bloods are taken on a Friday.

Well woman clinic – with Doctor or Nurse including cervical smears (please book a 20 minute appointment for all gynae procedures) and blood pressure checks.

Other services

Medicals (HGV, Insurance, Employment etc.) Thursday evening by appointment.

Minor surgery by appointment with Doctor and Nurse.

Private services – some services provided by the surgery are not covered by the NHS.  The following are services for which a charge will be made: Private medical certificates, holiday cancellation certificates, holiday vaccinations, BUPA/PPA etc claim forms, medical examinations e.g. HGV.  Passport applications and photo signing etc. A list of our charges is displayed in the waiting room.
